GoviEx Uranium Inc. (CVE:GXU) insiders got a good deal: Sold stock currently worth CA$0.21 at US$0.44 over the past year

Source: Shutterstock Even though GoviEx Uranium Inc. ( CVE:GXU ) stock gained 16% last week, insiders who sold US$393k worth of stock over the past year are probably better off. Selling at an average price of US$0.44, which is higher than the current price might have been the right call as holding on to stock would have meant their investment would be worth less now than it was at the time of sale.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares. The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At GoviEx Uranium

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Independent Director, David Cates, sold CA$139k worth of shares at a price of CA$0.41 per share. While we don’t usually like […]

Contract to supply the U.S. Uranium Reserve puts Energy Fuels in the pilot’s seat for 2023

Tracy Weslosky January 3, 2023 No Comments The uranium market had a reasonable 2022 with uranium prices up by 12% . The question on everyone’s mind is what will uranium prices do in 2023?

Given that the world needs to move away from fossil fuels and that nuclear offers reliable baseload power, smart nuclear looks to be a solid bet for the world’s energy future, especially with nuclear energy fueled by uranium now providing the U.S. with 50% of its zero carbon power.

Uranium prices trending higher in recent years Uranium demand vs supply

In the last few years experts have been predicting that we will soon see uranium deficits accompanied by the higher prices needed to encourage new production. The late 2021 uranium price spike and continued rise in prices in 2022 suggests that uranium’s time has finally arrived. Mining Favorites For 2023: Gold, Silver, Uranium & Lithium

Each January, we survey the leading financial newsletter advisors asking for their favorite stocks for the coming year. With concerns over global inflation, it is not surprising that commodities are among the most popular sectors. Our MoneyShow Top Picks report 2023 includes 7 favorites among gold, silver, uranium and lithium miners.

The setup in silver is as compelling as I have ever seen it. Silver is a superb inflation hedge, but it’s also crucial to the green energy transition. Silver’s biggest industrial application is solar panels, which require 12% of annual silver supply. But it’s also irreplaceable in EVs, electronics, and medicine.

Pan American Silver (PAAS) is an ideal way to play the huge upside in silver with relatively limited risk. Founded in 1994 by mining legend Ross Beaty, Pan American Silver is the world’s second largest primary silver mining company. It boasts a total 28 years of operations […]

Denison Mines: Another Milestone Hit At Phoenix

RHJ Denison Mines (NYSE: DNN ) continues its efforts to de-risk its high grade Wheeler River project. The recently released positive news regarding the ISR field test at the Phoenix deposit are a major milestone for the company as it demonstrates the viability of the superior ISR mining method at the Athabasca basin. At the same time, the financial position of Denison is strong, potentially paving the way for a non-dilutive production path. While inflation will likely hit the initial capital requirements for Denison’s projects, management seems to have a prudent strategy for their development. Overall, despite the risks that come with a developer stage miner, Denison seems like a good speculative bet on the uranium bull thesis. Company overview

Denison Mines is a Canadian exploration and development uranium company with focus on the Athabasca basin. The company has ownership in a few assets, including the operating McLane Lake […]

Sprott: AUM Close To Peak Levels, Which Is Far From Reflected In The Stock

imaginima Investment Thesis

Sprott Inc. (NYSE: SII ) is a Canadian investment company, focused on the precious metals and uranium industries. I have covered the stock many times in the past few years, those articles can be found here . The company has a listing in both the U.S. and Canada.

Assets Under Management is by my calculations almost at a peak level in Q4-22, up around 14% from Q4-22, but the stock price has declined by as much as 24% during 2022. Even if the sentiment has been relatively poor for miners during the year, most producers have still fared better than this without the impressive AUM growth we have seen for Sprott. So, it has led to an excellent opportunity for investors, and I have continued to add to the stock over the last couple of months. Figure 1 – Koyfin Exchange Listed Products Segment

2 Materials Stocks That Could Pay Off Big Time

When it comes to material stocks, different investors have different preferences — some lean heavily towards gold stocks for their ability to provide a hedge against market crashes and inflation. Silver stocks can offer the same benefit, albeit on a smaller scale. More forward-looking investors favour battery metal companies and wait for the electric vehicle (EV) boom to gain more traction.

However, some other material stocks often fly under the radar but may have great potential, especially if the right market conditions are in place. A uranium stock

Uranium has been a coveted material ever since we realized its energy potential. And even though this potential was never fully realized, many countries in the world are waking up to the fact that uranium might be the best “transition fuel,” at least until we can go fully green. Companies like Cameco ( TSX:CCO ) may offer great returns when that happens. This […]

Nuclear Power Is On The Cusp Of a $1 Trillion Resurgence

Vancouver, BC –News Direct– MarketJar Worldwide efforts to achieve net-zero goals are ongoing, and many nations are beginning to recognize the critical role nuclear energy plays in this race. One of the cleanest forms of power generation is nuclear energy because it doesn’t cause carbon emissions or climate change. In fact, the International Energy Agency estimates that the nuclear sector will need to double in size over the next two decades in order to achieve the global net-zero emissions goals (IEA). In fact, the demand for new, optimized nuclear reactors will require more than $1 trillion in global investment.

Add to that the energy crisis taking place in Europe and it’s easy to see why interest in uranium is gaining momentum. Several countries are already making changes to their nuclear energy policies to extend the life of power plants, creating a potential boom for the uranium market.

The US government approved […]

Uranium expert with 35 years experience sees new uranium highs coming!

Uranium is not just popular with the retail crowd but with the institutional crowd as well. It really does seem like a no brainer investment given nuclear energy being the solution for base load energy with CO2 free emissions, and the current supply and demand uranium set up.

Things get more interesting as the European Union ban on Russian crude oil goes live on December 5th . There are some issues with the price gap, but this has the potential to send crude oil prices higher! But for uranium investors, this begs the question: will Russian uranium be next? In previous weekly uranium sector roundups, I have written about banks such as Citi being bullish uranium because they see a ban or sanctions on Russian uranium coming. Kazakhstan’s Kazatomprom is also looking at alternative routes to deliver uranium rather than through St Petersburg in case sanctions or a ban is […]

Top 3 Gold & Silver Stories in 2022

In a year that saw major land-based warfare return to Europe for the first time since the ’90s, global volatility has become an important challenge. Central banks have responded to geopolitical and rising rate-related challenges by buying gold, with the prospect of rates hitting their peak next year and yields stabilizing creating a path for gold and other precious metals next year. For investors looking to reflect on the year in precious metals, consider the top three gold and silver stories for 2022.

Readers were very intrigued by the news that March, defined by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, sent gold and silver prices up significantly. The invasion’s reverberations across the global economy, ranging from spiking energy costs to fluctuating grain supplies, saw investors seek traditional sanctuaries from volatility like precious metals.

The spike echoed 2020’s pandemic-driven gold price increase, with the piece citing Sprott market strategist Paul Wong and his analysis […]

Research Report on China’s Uranium Resource Import Industry 2023-2032: Natural Uranium and U235 Enriched Uranium Drivers, Challenges, and Opportunities – ResearchAndMarkets.com

DUBLIN–( BUSINESS WIRE )–The "Research Report on China’s Uranium Resource Import 2023-2032" report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com’s offering.

In recent years, China has seen rapid development of nuclear power. By the end of 2022, China had 53 commercial nuclear power units in operation, with a total installed capacity of 55.6 million kilowatts.

There are 23 nuclear power units under construction, with a total installed capacity of 24.19 million kilowatts. China’s installed capacity of nuclear power generation units under construction has remained the world’s largest for many years. As China’s installed nuclear power capacity rises, so does the country’s demand for uranium resources. Since China’s indigenous uranium resources are poor, with total reserves of no more than 200,000 tons and high mining costs, China needs to import large amounts of uranium resources every year.

In 2021, China’s imports of uranium resources reached 13,613.9 tons, down 18.4% year-on-year, and the import value of […]

The Cold War legacy lurking in U.S. groundwater

Even after regulators say uranium mine cleanup is complete, polluted water and sickness are often left behind

Uranium contamination extends several miles in an aquifer under the Bluewater disposal site in New Mexico. (Mauricio Rodriguez Pons / ProPublica) In America’s rush to build the nuclear arsenal that won the Cold War, safety was sacrificed for speed.

Uranium mills that helped fuel the weapons also dumped radioactive and toxic waste into rivers like the Cheyenne in South Dakota and the Animas in Colorado . Thousands of sheep turned blue and died after foraging on land tainted by processing sites in North Dakota. And cancer wards across the West swelled with sick uranium workers.

The U.S. government bankrolled the industry, and mining companies rushed to profit, building more than 50 mills and processing sites to refine uranium ore .But the government didn’t have a plan for the toxic byproducts of this nuclear assembly […]
