Denison Mines: Leverage To Future Uranium Prices At A Reasonable Valuation

AscentXmedia/E+ via Getty Images The big picture: uranium and uranium equities

Uranium prices are quietly rising, but it remains unclear whether this recent movement is driven by speculators front-running the launch of the Zuri-invest Uranium Actively Managed Certificate , or if it signifies a more significant structural change in the uranium market. However, investment vehicles like the Sprott Physical Uranium Trust (SPUT) are not responsible for this price increase, as SPUT has been trading at a discount to NAV since March.

Therefore, we are observing an interesting divergence at the moment. Sentiment in the uranium sector is low, as evidenced by the 50% correction of many uranium equities from their previous highs. However, simultaneously, both the uranium spot price and long-term price are showing an upward trend. If we are indeed at an inflection point where the uranium market is returning to being production-driven, an opportunity presents itself for investors […]

First Week of November 17th Options Trading For Uranium Energy (UEC)

Investors in Uranium Energy Corp (Symbol: UEC) saw new options begin trading this week, for the November 17th expiration. One of the key data points that goes into the price an option buyer is willing to pay, is the time value, so with 150 days until expiration the newly trading contracts represent a potential opportunity for sellers of puts or calls to achieve a higher premium than would be available for the contracts with a closer expiration. At Stock Options Channel , our YieldBoost formula has looked up and down the UEC options chain for the new November 17th contracts and identified one put and one call contract of particular interest.

The put contract at the $3.00 strike price has a current bid of 25 cents. If an investor was to sell-to-open that put contract, they are committing to purchase the stock at $3.00, but will also collect the premium, […]

Liberty Star says positive independent evaluation of Red Rock Canyon gold project confirms its assessment

Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. (OTC:LBSR) told investors it has received a positive independent evaluation of its wholly-owned Red Rock Canyon Gold Project (RRC) in southeast Arizona’s Cochise County.

The mineral exploration company said the evaluation, by independent consulting geologist James Bryce, found that the entire land package has great potential to host both gold and base metal mineralization since it appears to contain an entire porphyry system from intrusive up to boiling epithermal veins at surface.

Also, Bryce said in his evaluation that the company “is strongly urged to seek out one or two well-funded JV partners in the form of junior exploration companies” to further develop the gold prospect at Red Rock Canyon.

Bryce’s evaluation followed a tour of the RRC land package in April, as well as a review of previously-gathered geological reports including drill hole logs, Liberty Star said, noting that his observations included gold-bearing jasperoid structures.Bryce […]

SMALL CAP IDEA: Uranium companies receiving greater interest amid drive for clean energy and reducing poverty

Cautiously, uranium bulls are starting to come out of hiding.

The uranium mining sector took a huge hit after the Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan in 2011 and has still yet fully to recover.

But the world has other pressing issues to contend with: namely climate change and pulling billions of the world’s poor out of poverty.

Nuclear can help with both and as such it’s coming back into fashion.Amongst the main candidates in the upcoming 2024 US Presidential elections, Robert Kennedy Junior is against nuclear, while the other main candidates are locked in. Splitting a kilogram of U-235 releases a huge amount of energy – about 2.5 million times the amount of energy produced by burning the same amount of coal (stock image) Ron De Santis told reporters in February that nuclear was the cleanest source of power ‘of all’.Donald Trump is pro, and the incumbent President can’t afford to undermine […]

If uranium prices boom, these ASX explorers are ready to ride the wave

Earlier this month New York fund managers Leigh Goehring and Adam Rozencwajg flagged that, as quickly mobilised spot volumes become scarce, speculators could use the Sprott Physical Uranium Trust (SPUT) to push yellowcake prices sharply higher .

SPUT currently has over 61.7 million pounds of U3O8 under lock and key – and is considered by Goehring and Rozencwajg as a barometer of uranium investor sentiment.

“When investors are bullish on uranium, the Sprott Uranium Trust often trades at a significant premium to the value of its uranium holdings,” they said.“Speculators will eventually realise they can bull the Sprott Physical Uranium Trust, force a premium, have the Trust issue shares, and permanently sequester physical material.“Although this strategy would not work in a well-supplied market, it could create sharp price increases when physical material is scarce as utilities are forced to compete with speculators for volumes.“Uranium is bullish […]

The uranium market could provide lucrative profits

Receive up-to-date information about the company directly via push notification The fact that a pound of uranium currently costs around 50 US dollars could be just the beginning. It is still a good 90 U.S. dollars short of the old highest price. But there’s always room for improvement. Around two-thirds of global uranium production comes from Kazakhstan, Canada and Australia. Last year, Kazakhstan produced about 43 percent of the world’s uranium, Canada about 15 percent and Namibia about 11 percent. About 55 percent is now produced by in-situ leaching. And various figures show that the demand for uranium is growing. Almost 60 new nuclear power plants were under construction at the end of 2022. There are 439 nuclear reactors in operation worldwide. According to the Nuclear Fuel Report, uranium demand is expected to increase by 27 percent by 2030 and 38 percent by 2040.

The copper, uranium, lithium outlook and 7 stocks to watch

Copper prices are expected to rise in the long term due to increased demand from decarbonisation and electrification

There is a supply deficit of uranium due to lack of investment in the industry

The lithium market is more saturated than the copper and uranium markets, but there is still long-term potential for growth

The near-universal investor enthusiasm for commodities in calendar 2022 has tapered off in 2023 so far and for a couple of reasons, investment insiders Todd Warren and Andrew Hines told James Gerrish in a Market Matters webinar on Thursday.Hines, head of research at Shaw and Partners, emphasised China’s lower-than-expected economic growth in the first half of this year as a key reason. And in a broader sense, commodity prices also pulled back on the realisation that the “inflation dragon was far from tamed,” he said.“You need to separate the big picture, long-term thematics of decarbonisation and […]

Power Metal Resources chief executive Sean Wade is bullish on uranium and looking to do deals

Rick Rule, one of the most prominent resources investors in Canada, has suddenly appeared on the Power Metal Resources PLC (AIM:POW) share register.

Or is it sudden?

It depends how you look at it.

Rule is famously a uranium bull, and Power Metal Resources has systematically been building up its uranium position in the Athabasca, in Canada, one of the most prestigious U-addresses in the world. It’s also right in Rick Rule’s back yard and proximal to lots of major and minor players in the uranium space that he can feel comfortable with. So, so far so good. But there’s more to it than that.Rule’s arrival on the Power Metal register came as part of a broader £2.7mln fundraising undertaken following the appointment of new chief executive Sean Wade. And here we begin to get to the nub of the matter.Wade was formerly a senior associate of Michael Rawlinson at Cazenove and Liberum, and has subsequently […]
