Cameco Corp.

is benefiting from a resurgence in uranium, as nuclear power is increasingly embraced by countries looking for ways to cut carbon emissions and supply concerns arise.

On Monday, the company’s shares closed at $54.54 on the Toronto Stock Exchange, about $5 below their all-time high in 2007.In recent years, the world’s attention has turned to cutting carbon emissions to fight climate change. One of nuclear’s chief selling points is that it generates no CO2 emissions, leading some observers to predict a surge in construction of new power plants, including small modular reactors (SMRs), which are billed as cheaper and easier to build than their larger cousins.Raymond James analyst Brian MacArthur wrote in […]

( Kitco News ) – After uranium prices surged by nearly 8% in August to over $60 per pound and drove mining stocks to double-digit gains, analysts at Sprott see several reasons why demand for the metal should remain strong for years to come.

“Uranium’s impressive uptick in August set it apart from many other commodities, which faced declines due to the strengthening USD and China’s softening economy,” wrote Jacob White, ETF Product Manager at Sprott Asset Management. “Decade-high uranium contracting levels by utilities, coupled with supply disruptions and risks, are helping to create a robust demand market.” White noted the strong performance for both the metal and the miners in August. “This upward trend in uranium stocks […]

These 2 ASX uranium shares are hitting 52-week highs today. Is it too late to buy?

It’s been a pretty shoddy start to the trading week for the All Ordinaries Index (ASX: XAO) and most ASX shares this Monday. At the time of writing, the All Ords has lost a meaty 0.66%. But that hasn’t stopped two ASX uranium shares from bucking the markets and not only rising today but hitting new 52-week highs.

Let’s discuss.

First up we have Paladin Energy Ltd ( ASX: PDN ).

Last week, Paladin shares closed at 96 cents each. This ASX uranium share opened at that same price this morning, but soon rocketed up 2.59% to 99 cents, the level we are currently seeing. That’s also the new 52-week high for the Paladin share price. Then we have Devex Resources Ltd ( ASX: DEV ).Devex shares closed at 38 cents last Friday but opened at 41 cents this morning before climbing up to 42 cents soon after open. That was a gain […]

Tim Boreham: Uranium is looking up

Uranium (U) radioactive chemical element, used in nuclear power, medicine, military and research. Promotional education periodic element 3D render. We hear the mood among the 550 delegates at last week’s World Nuclear Symposium in London was positively glowing – and there are good reasons why, given the uranium sector’s gathering momentum.

Supportive factors include dwindling inventories, a coup in uranium-producing Niger and Canadian giant Cameco curtailing guided production due to a lack of qualified operating staff (sounds like our railways).

At 180 million pounds, the uranium inventories of US and European utilities are at their lowest levels since 2008 and these power stations are expected to start buying.

Broker UBS notes the spot uranium price has traded above $US61 ($95) a pound in September – a 12-month high . The firm opines that while there is “much uncertainty on the demand and supply sides,” it expects the price to hit $US70/lb next […]

Sprott Physical Uranium: Seizing Opportunities In The Uranium Bull Market

Sakorn Sukkasemsakorn Investment Thesis

Sprott Physical Uranium Trust ( OTCPK:SRUUF ) (also known as "SPUT") is well-placed to participate in the new uranium bull market.

Here I explain why to invest in uranium, why to specifically consider Sprott, and what are the drawbacks of investing in Sprott. Why Investing in Uranium?

Uranium plays a significant role in supplementing the energy transition toward achieving net-zero emissions due to 5 attributes: Reliable Cheap Flexible Scalable And best of all? It’s carbon-free. Nuclear power plants, fueled by uranium, produce electricity without emitting greenhouse gases during operation, making them a crucial component of a cleaner energy mix. Making nuclear energy superior to fossil fuels.Further, the appeal of nuclear energy is that, unlike renewable energy, nuclear energy offers a consistent and stable source of power, capable of supplying base-load electricity, which is essential to meet the energy demands of modern societies. Moreover, nuclear power’s reliability ensures […]

URA ETF: A Gateway To The Uranium Industry

GOCMEN/iStock via Getty Images Investment Thesis

Global X Uranium (NYSEARCA: URA ) is an ETF that tracks uranium equities. Here I describe the reasons to be bullish on uranium, the key element in the generation of nuclear energy.

My analysis focuses on nuclear energy as a complement to green energy sources by offering a dependable and low-carbon energy solution that can work in tandem with renewables to meet our growing energy demands while minimizing our environmental impact.

On this occasion, I haven’t focused my discussion on the supply-demand balance question facing uranium, but you can see this neatly described below in graphic form. CCJ annual report Uranium is used as fuel in nuclear reactors, and utilities require uranium to meet the increasing gap between supply and demand that is expected to build into the middle of this decade, highlighted above.Without further ado, here’s why I’m bullish on ETF, while also noting […]

Uranium Energy: Investors Are Still Waiting For Production Start

JacobH I last covered Uranium Energy Corp. (NYSE: UEC ) in May, assigning the stock a Sell rating. My thesis revolved around the fact that the company does not produce any uranium and has been relying on the sale of existing inventory for almost all of its revenue. If a picture is worth 1000 words, then the thesis of that article can be summarized by the following screenshot. UEC Q2 3 & 6 Month Revenue Numbers (UEC Form 10-Q Filing) However, since then the stock has been on quite a tear as it rides the wave of a rapidly developing new uranium upcycle. My portfolio, obviously, did not benefit from UEC’s price run, but I do have plenty of uranium exposure through positions in Denison Mines ( DNN ) and Cameco ( CCJ ), the latter of which actually produces uranium and a lot of it.

For UEC, Q3 was […]

Latitude Uranium will soon know if its project on top of the world ranks as one of the industry’s best uranium finds

The first phase of drilling at Latitude Uranium’s ( Latitude Uranium Inc (CSE:LUR, OTCQB:LURAF) ) Angilak project in Nunavut is now well underway.

The results will be intensely scrutinized by investors and uranium industry experts alike, but what’s already known is that they’re likely to show uranium, and lots of it. That’s because Angilak boasts a historical resource of 43 million pounds of uranium grading 0.69%. If those results can be replicated, they’ll put Angilak in the top 10% of projects by grade worldwide.

Twinning holes and working off historical data can often be circumspect, of course. But in this case, the guidance from history looks relatively strong.

For a start, although the earlier work is termed “historical” from a regulatory standpoint, it actually dates to just 2013. That’s relatively fresh by mining standards and also means the data was gathered in conformity with the standards set by National Instrument 43-101, which […]

Australian shares have been lifted despite a mixed overnight lead from very mixed US investors. The ASX 200 finished higher and near best levels amid a relatively broad-based rally led by Resources, Financials and Tech. There’s not a whole lot going on for markets at the moment. The Index is stabilising after the sharp ~2% selloff earlier this month, buoyed by the recent strength in iron ore prices and plateauing bond yields. 3 Uranium Stocks to Buy as Nuclear Energy Regains Popularity

Jump on these uranium stocks as nuclear energy becomes great again.

NexGen Energy ( NXE ): NexGen is an aspirational play with a unanimous buy rating.

BHP Group ( BHP ): BHP Group offers a relatively predictable investment for nuclear energy.

Denison Mines ( DNN ): Denison Mines is risky but benefits from robust speculation. Source: Shutterstock Although it’s a controversial issue for obvious reasons, investors may nevertheless want to consider loading up on uranium stocks. For one thing, nuclear energy appears to be making a comeback.According to a recent Reuters report, demand for uranium reactors may jump by 28% by 2030. Ten years later, this stat might nearly double as governments accelerate their nuclear energy capacities to meet zero-carbon targets. That’s right, the underlying industry for all its drama represents a clean energy source , at least from an emissions sense.Second, a societal shift may be occurring as […]
