Uranium Price Surpasses $50 for First Time Since 2012

TradeTech’s spot market price for uranium rose to US$50.50 per pound uranium oxide (U3O8) today—-the first time since July 2012 that the uranium market has seen a spot price surpass the $50 price level.

TradeTech’s Daily Uranium Spot Price Indicator has climbed just over $10, or 25 percent, in the past week, as spot market activity has risen steeply amid buying activity from financial groups, traders, and utilities, with financial entities accounting for the majority of the recent purchases.
