The Role of Nuclear Power in Achieving Global Carbon Emission Targets

The Australian mining company, Deep Yellow, has emphasized the importance of nuclear power in achieving global carbon emission targets. The company is actively exploring for uranium in Namibia and believes that nuclear energy is a key component of the world’s energy strategy.

According to Deep Yellow’s CEO, John Borshoff, an increasing number of governments are pivoting towards nuclear energy as part of their energy strategies. Deep Yellow is currently involved in two projects in Namibia, namely Tumas and Omahola.

Borshoff states that the demand for uranium is surpassing the existing supply from current producers and proposed new mines. This situation creates a need for a significant increase in uranium prices to incentivize new production.
